TheRVgeeks .comApril 13, 2026From the day we started full-time RVing in 2003, we knew we wanted to boondock... even before we'd heard that word! We installed solar systems on our first two RVs, but even as meticulous as we are, we knew that if we wanted a SERIOUS off-grid set-up, we'd need a professional with the skills to take us to the next level. We'd heard all the buzz about Tom & Ely of MYT Solar being THE team for high-end solar & lithium battery installations, especially since we were buying an Outdoors RV, which is the brand they specialize in. As we said, we're meticulous, but we weren't prepared for the level of work Tom does. He's like a scientist, an engineer, and an artist all rolled into one, and the system he put together for us blows our old ones into the weeds, not only in capability (1,500 watts and 810 Ah), but in the quality of every component and the incredible level of detail he pays to absolutely everything. Our amazing system allows us to go off the grid and stay there without a generator. Even with an electric fridge, we almost never need to connect to shore power (an extended heat wave might require that). To make good use of all that available power, and to save propane, we usually use the electric side of the water heater, and sometimes heat the RV with an electric space heater! All while off the grid. Just in case anyone might think we're leaving Tom & Ely a glowing review because they're friends of ours, it's actually the other way around. We became friends partly because we have so much respect for them and their work. The first time we met, we were simply customers looking for quality work. But we just fell in love with what they do, and the two of them as people. Yes, they are two of the really good ones! After getting to know Tom & Ely (and boondocking with them in our matching 19MKS campers), we can tell you there is no one else we would ever consider letting touch our battery & solar system. They simply do the finest installs we've ever seen, and the pride they take in their work is a rare find in the RV industry, which is infamous for subpar products and services.Posted on Google
Ellen MoyerMarch 25, 2026So many times in business you have an intial great experience but don't really have much of an interaction beyond that. Well in the RV world, we know this to not exactly be true and fortunate for us we found a company who 100% stands behind their product. In 2023 MYT solar put a full roof of solar on our camper enabling us to live full time and not worry about having to connect to shore power if we didn't want. Over the past 3 years there have been incidents where we have needed to reach out to Tom and Ely for help. Of course they always seem to be at times like holidays or when they are trying to take some time off. They ALWAYS respond, are gracious and problem solve until the issue is resolved, 99.9% of time it is not system error, but operator error. Tom is incredibly patient with us and always offers great support. We cannot recommend this company enough! Quality products, installation and especially customer service.Posted on Google

Kevin CardwellOctober 20, 2025After a year of research into RV solar upgrades for our ORV 24RLS-T, we decided to contact MYT Solar. I discussed my RV use with Tom and he designed a solar power system that meets our desired needs. We like to camp in FS/BLM, State Parks, Nat'l Parks, etc where non-electric camp sites are common, usually for 5-7 days. I visited the MYT website & YouTube channel and was very impressed by Tom's work. I can now say that MYT has lived up to my expectations. Ely contacted me pre-build to coordinate logistics for our trip to central Oregon, downloading specific Victron apps, and ensuring we had all the business details to ensure a smooth process. Since the installation we continued camping in off-grid sites as we fished our way down to northern CA and NV on our way back home in Montana. The MYT Solar power system in our RV is awesome. pat duboisSeptember 19, 2025We had a very professional install of a solar/lithium battery/inverter, etc system on our travel trailer. Also installed a DC to DC system with our GMC truck. The work is very well thought out and meticulous. They are very easy to work and provide great communication. We drove 1800 miles one way to Oregon to have the work done. They are great people! The new set up allowed us to be off grid for the entire 6 day travel back to Minnesota. If you are thinking of adding a system (big or small) do not wait! Time is not guaranteed on this earth and MYT Solar is the team to do it!Posted on Google
Scott TaylorSeptember 4, 2025Tom and Elly did a great installation on the new ORV rig we purchased in 2022. Fast forward to August 2025 when we were boondocked in a remote Colorado national forest. Our factory installed Zamp solar controller failed resulting in no solar charge going to our Lithium batteries. By the time we discovered a problem our batteries had gone into "sleep mode" and we had a real issue attempting to get our system activated and working at our remote location. After driving to a location with (marginal) cell service, I contacted Tom who via several phone discussions helped strategize a plan to get us up and running in our remote locale with limited resources. The man literally dropped everything to assist us for which we are extremely grateful. Read other reviews and you quickly understand the quality of their installations. After sale support is a critical and often overlooked part of technical services. Rest assured that MYT Solar provides a 5 star experience and response in support of their installations.
